Wonderfully Wordless

Ever since Mr. Man has opened the second paper spending time together as a family, especially during the week, has been difficult. By no means should you see this as a complaint, since he is doing this FOR our family, but it makes the day we spend together even MORE important.

Last Saturday, which I mentioned in this post, we spent a wonderful day an hour away from where we live. All we did was laugh, play, laugh some more, and had fabulous food. It was so nice to get out of our surroundings and focus only on US. THIS is when memories are made…..what a wonderful day we had.

While I intended to make this post wonderfully wordless I had to add a few details on our adventure and what it meant to me. Now for the wordless part:

The picture that is one of my favorites is the one in the middle with our shadows. How cool is that!!!!!! Have a fabulous day.

Mr. Man WAS Freezing 4 a Reason

Hi guys! So it has been a very active couple of weeks and:

  1. you will be seeing a bunch of posts soon. Need to catch up on what has been going on in Htothe3 land. Some crafting, some family time, and probably some randomness. The biggest post will be about the redesign.
  2. This post will MAINLY include pictures. That being said, bare with me it was for a good cause and I am very proud of Mr. Man for what he did.

On to the pictures I mean post. =) This Saturday Mr. Man, my fabulous hubby, jumped into a VERY and I mean VERY cold lake to raise money for a charity. There is a 10 year old little girl in our community who has Cystic Fibrosis and every year her family has a fundraiser to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. At the event participants raise money by getting sponsors to sponsor them to jump into the lake. Thank goodness you can still attend without jumping. Bean, my mother and father-in-law and I were land lovers cheering Mr. Man on as he took the plunge.

Mr. Man, I am so so so proud of you. Thank you for representing our family and raising money for such a wonderful cause. You are THE best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here are the pictures. Hope you enjoy them.

I Think I Can Do That……..Fingers Crossed

Here are four things you don’t know about me:

1234

  1. I wish I was more crafty and a DYIer (if that is a word).
  2. I am jealous of people who have a crafty thumb.
  3. I dabbled in scrapbooking to keep me busy while Mr. Man was in graduate school.
  4. I have a LOVING  TOLERANT father who is willing to do projects with his daughter, no matter what she has in store for him to “help” her with. (Since I didn’t have all the tools I had to recruit a partner in crime.)

That being said, take a look at this:

It isn’t completely obvious from the picture, but this is a DYI magnetic chalkboard. When I took one look at this I was in TOTAL awe. To me, it was SIMPLY beautiful. If you haven’t already clicked on the picture, I highly suggest you visit her tutorial. Julie, of Less-Than-Perfect Life of Bliss did an amazing job figuring out why AND how to solve the problem, discussed in the blog world,  of combining chalkboard and magnetic paint. After reading her tutorial I was motivated to give it a tray.

Since I have been searching for something that would allow me to keep notes, for example a grocery list, and display Bean’s “artwork” this was the perfect solution. I also knew I had the prefect place:

project

I am planning on removing the two pictures and either move them  to another location or put them away for another use.

Supplies have been purchased. My Dad has been recruited. We are well on our way.

Stay tuned for the final product. I also have some other projects planned that I am excited about. These include a wreath for our front door, one for Bean’s room, and maybe another for our bedroom. I also saw a project that will make an appearance on Health, Happiness, Hamstrings. Here is a sneak peek:

My plan is the change based on the season. On that note, goodnight my blog readers!!!!!

The Simple Woman’s Daybook

small simple woman icon

Outside my window...for once I am so happy to say the sun is shining. While there is still snow on the ground and the roads are wet, they are still visible.

I am thinking... it has been such a crazy couple of weeks. I feel terrible that I haven’t written one of these is SO long. Simple Woman’s Daybook I’m back!

I am thankful for...a successful event last week for Mr. Man. I am one proud wife. Kudos to all involved.

From the kitchen...would have to become a Jetson and jet through the the sky. SO I couldn’t tell you.

I am wearing...jeans, t-shirt, sweater. No surprise.

I am creating...new opportunities. Something that I can call mine.

I am going...to pick up bean in a little while and we are off to dinner with Mr. Man.

I am reading...still the same book. Mansfield Park by Jane Austin, one of the Booking it in 2011 books.

I am hoping...you will join me for the live talk on theMotherhood sponsored by Dr. Oetker Ristorante. It is tomorrow at 1pm EST and this is  the link to participate. Make sure you create an account ahead of time.

I am hearing……a text being delivered to someone's phone.

One of my favorite things….a toddler’s laugh. It is SO wonderful.

A few plans for the rest of the week: More time with Jane Eyre. Will be participating in theMotherhood talk tomorrow. Again, you can participate by clicking here.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Have a great rest of the day!

Cloud Nine

In my opinion, people use the term “cloud nine” loosely when referring to experiences. Nevertheless, if I say so myself, there is truly no other words to describe the day I had with my family. Last Monday, Martin Luther King’s Day, Bean and I spent some wonderful quality time with my father and brother. My mother then joined in the festivities.

I could write an entire essay on our day, since it has been imprinted in mine as one to never forget, but I will not bore you on ALL the details.  Mom, Dad and Brian, if you happen to be reading this, thank you for the most wonderful day. I adored watching you with Bean. The relationship the three of you are developing with her, that is separate from the relationship you have with me, is such a gift. It gives me such pleasure seeing her eyes light up when you guys walk in the room.

Here are the highlights from our amazing day. It even includes a milestone: buying Bean her first big girl snow boots.

Ate a HUMUNGOUS chocolate chip cookie and got it ALL over the while carpeting (those who know my parents I found this hysterical and Mr. Man got quite a kick out of it).  L1020494

To say the least, at the end of the day she was exhausted and so was I, but we had a ball!
